ISTORIA FRANCMASONERIEI de Albert Mackey tradusa de centrul de studiu C.R.S.F Paris-Bucuresti

Literatura universala studiaza valorile majore comune ale popoarelor in domeniul artei cuvantului.
Hr.).

Sub influenta literaturii babiloniene, literatura ebraica antica este cuprinsa aproape in intregime in “Vechiul Testament”. VIII – II i.

XII – VIII i.Hr.).

Literatura culta latina (sec III i.Hr.) este reprezentata de Ciuro (106 – 43 i.Hr.).

Valoarea continutului constituie criteriul de promovare a unei opere in universalitate.

Abstract Literar:

O alta conditie esentiala in promovarea unei opere in context universal este realizarea artistica desavarsita.

In prezent, ele isi gasesc locul in marile muzee si biblioteci ale lumii.

Masoneria romana are o istorie care trebuie pusa in drepturi.

1The Symbolism of Freemasonry or Mystic Masonry

This Great Secret, this Master’s Word, was know to and preserved in the Mysteries of Antiquity, and is embodied and preserved in the traditions and symbols of Masonry today.

This fact has been stated repeatedly in the body of this little book, the real purpose of which was to set students, and particularly masonic students, to searching for the real secret. It is the reward of study and devotion, and has never been obtained on any other terms. It has never been conferred in the ritualistic degrees of the lodge, and never will or can be. It is the establishment of understanding in the soul of man between that higher self in him, and the More, and the Beyond self from which he draws his life, and from which his intuitions spring.

This is real Initiation: Becoming: At-one-ment.” “There are thousands of Masons, who realize that Masonry contains and implies far more than appears in the ritual and ceremonies of the Lodge. There is a very widespread and growing interest in this direction, and it is this that Mystic Masonry, above all else, is designed to foster, encourage, and help.”

bookofthewords The Book of the Words

Masonry is permeated with powerful symbolism-both verbal and pictorial-that arouses the mental, spiritual, and intellectual life of those who use them. This extremely interesting study, once limited to 150 copies, gives the correct spelling of, and analyzes all the “significant words” (pass words, etc.) in, the Scottish Rite from the 1st through 30th degrees inclusive. In addition to being an etymological dictionary Pike explains why any given word was chosen for a given degree thereby revealing the hidden symbolism of each word. Illustrated and highly recommended.

“Thus while Jachin symbolized the state of erection of the membrum virile, when prepared for begetting or creating, in the womb, Boaz symbolized the potency, rigor, and fierce and even cruel desire of the same member. It was the sexual vigor and power, the inordinate lust of the goat, that gate that animal the name daz or Oaz.”

morals_and_dogmaMorals and Dogma

The book is composed of Pike’s ruminations and essays on the Degrees of the Scottish Rite, from the 1st to the 32nd. It is intended as a guidebook for people entering the Scottish Rite, and explains Pike’s understanding of the symbolism and allegory in the degrees he wrote. However, it is a truly imposing tome. There are 861 pages of text and a 218 page index; the book itself is over two inches thick. There are thirty-two chapters, each discussing the philosophical symbolism of a degree of Freemasonry in extensive detail. In the Preface to the 1950 Edition, the editors wrote about Pike thus:

“In preparing this work, the Grand Commander has been about equally Author and Compiler; since he has extracted quite half of its contents from the works of the best writers and most philosophic or eloquent thinkers. Perhaps it would have been better and more acceptable if he had extracted more and written less.”

Duncan’s Masonic Ritual and Monitor

This book presents details of Masonic initiation rituals, along with grips, passwords and regalia. Written in the 19th century, Duncan’s Ritual, as it is known, has been republished numerous times. It includes the three basic degrees of the Ancient York Rite, and four additional advanced degrees. There are over a hundred illustrations, all reproduced here, which show important details of the rituals, including gestures and symbolic pictures. Duncan’s Ritual is careful to note known variations where they exist. This book will be of interest to beginning Masons who want a roadmap of the craft, as well as experienced Masons who need a review.

A classic reference book containing the actual rituals that are still practiced today in Masonic lodges.

The Templar Orders In Freemasonry

The Templar Orders In Freemasonry

HAVING regard to the fact that Emblematic Freemasonry, as it is known and practised at this day, arose from an Operative Guild and within the bosom of a Development from certain London Lodges which prior to the year 1717 had their titles in the past of the Guild and recognised its Old Charges, it would seem outside the reasonable likelihood of Things That less than forty years after the foundation of Grand Lodge Knightly Orders should begin to be heard of developing under the aegis of the Craft, their titles in some cases being borrowed from the old institutions of Christian Chivalry. It is this, however, which occurred, and the inventions were so successful that they multiplied on every side, from 1754 to the threshold of the French Revolution, new denominations being devised when the old titles were exhausted. There arose in this manner a great tree of Ritual, and it happens, moreover, that we are in a position to affirm the kind of root from which it sprang.

A.S. MacBride – Speculative Masonry – Its Mission, its Evolution,
and its Landmarks

Lodge of I nstruction, in connection with Lodge Progress, Glasgow. At the urgent request of a large number of the members of the Craft, these are now published ;mainly through the labours of a publication Committee, appointed by that Lodge. The author takes this opportunity to acknowledge his indebtedness to the members of that Committee, for the pains they have so freely taken in the publication. He has, also, to thank those brethren who assisted him in putting his rough notes into proper form ;and cannot, without appearing ungrateful, avoid mentioning the names of Br. Alexander Bruce, D.P.G.M. for the Province of Glasgow, and Br. William S. Galbraith, P.M. of Lodge Progress the former for his very kind criticisms and corrections of the text, and the latter for his most careful revisions of the typography, etc. Many pressing duties and demands left the author little time and energy to do justice to his subjects. His studies have been limited to his leisure hours, and the composing of these lectures have merely formed a pleasant relaxation from the strain of a busy business life. He is, therefore, painfully conscious that there must be many imperfections in his work ;but if, notwithstanding these, this volume should prove helpful to the members of the Ancient Craft, he will be greatly gratified and amply rewarded. Albert Churchward – The Arcana of Freemasonry

The Arcana of Freemasonry: A History of Masonic Symbolism (Dover... Cover ArtThe Freemasons have changed the history of the world. Their belief in liberty and equality for all people profoundly affected both the French Revolution and the founding of the United States, as evidenced in part by the symbols on our currency. In The Arcana of Freemasonry, first published in 1915, symbol expert and renowned author Albert Churchward traces and reveals the history of this very secret order. Churchward weaves a tale of Masonry’s origins in ancient Egypt and its continuance through history–all told via Masonic symbols and symbolism.

From Egyptian history and Mayan relief work through Greek mathematicians, philosophers, and metaphysicians, Churchward traces the development of the most basic symbols of Freemasonry. He also reveals the hidden symbolism found in the signs and tools of modern Freemasonry and helps readers find hidden meanings in all areas of life–rom art and architecture to geometry and poetry. With current novels and movies leaning heavily on Masonic mysteries as plot devices, readers will be especially interested in the more arcane symbols and the stories they tell.

This book contains more than 100 illustrations of Masonic symbols, from earliest recorded to those used today.

Albert G. Mackey – The Symbolism of Freemasonry

The Symbolism of Freemasonry by Albert G. Mackey

Of the various modes of communicating instruction to the uninformed, the masonic student is particularly interested in two; namely, the instruction by legends and that by symbols. It is to these two, almost exclusively, that he is indebted for all that he knows, and for all that he can know, of the philosophic system which is taught in the institution. All its mysteries and its dogmas, which constitute its philosophy, are intrusted for communication to the neophyte, sometimes to one, sometimes to the other of these two methods of instruction, and sometimes to both of them combined. The Freemason has no way of reaching any of the esoteric teachings of the Order except through the medium of a legend or a symbol.

C.W. Leadbeater – The Hidden Life in Freemasonry

If you are satisfied with regular business meetings and great fish fries, then this is NOT the Masonic book for you. This classic Masonic esoteric work is designed for the student seeking far deeper meanings in Masonry. In the words of the author: „Although the book is primarily intended for the instruction of members of the Co-Masonic Order, whose desire, as is expressed in their ritual, is to pour the waters of esoteric knowledge into the Masonic vessels, I hope nevertheless that it may appeal to a wider circle, and may perhaps be of use to some of those many Brn. in the masculine Craft who are seeking for a deeper interpretation of Masonic symbolism than is given in the majority of their Lodges …” C.W. Leadbeater (1854-1934), was an English clergyman and respected theosophical author. Leadbeater is the author of the popular „Freemasonry and Its Ancient Mystic Rites.” This is an indespensible work for the esoteric Mason. Foreword by Annie Besant.

Charles H. Vail – Ancient Mysteries and Modern Masonry

The Ancient Mysteries and Modern Masonry (Classic Reprint)

ANCIENT MYSTERIES AND MODERN — MASONRY. — INTRODUCTION. — The purpose of these lectures is to consider the origin and nature of the Ancient Mysteries and Modern Masonry and to show the relation which they bear one to the other. Freemasonry deals largely with the morals and symbols of the Mysteries of Antiquity, and originally was one of the channels of Ancient Wisdom.

There were a few among the founders of Modern Masonry who possessed the Royal Secret, or, at least, had a knowledge of its existence, and, if the key has been lost, the Mason, as Heir-apparent of the Old Wisdom, should be foremost in the search for its recovery.

All agree that the Masonic symbols and traditions are of the greatest antiquity, and can be traced to the far East-to the earliest civilization, from which time and place they have spoken in nature’s language to all peoples of the earth. We are more and more convinced that this picture language of our ritual contains a most complete philosophy-a knowledge embracin.

Henry Andrew Francken –
Philosophical Lodge of the Knights of the Eagle

If you are satisfied with regular business meetings and great fish fries, then this is NOT the Masonic book for you. This classic Masonic esoteric work is designed for the student seeking far deeper meanings in Masonry. Arcana Saitica Briefly Discussed In Three Essays On The Masonic Tracing Boards

Masonic tracing boards I set myself to investigate their accuracy, with what result I shall presently show. I do not claim any originality for what I have written: it is simply the result of a considerable amount of, unhappily, somewhat desultory reading; and those who have happenied to study the works of Dulaure, Dupuis, Sainte Croix, Knight, Faber, Higgins, I nman, Cory and many others. treating on kindred subjects will be at no loss to discover whence I have drawn my information. 1believe that to a large number of Masons the esoteric meaning of the symbols and ceremonies in constant use and practice amongst us is either unknown or disregarded; but it surely cannot be uninteresting, even as a matter of history, to know whence they were derived, and to see how, even in our ancient and honourableS ociety, the jewel truth has become encrusted until to outward view it is like the pebble ignorance.
